Fresh48 Newborn Photography at Kennestone Hospital
Hospital Newborn Photography at Kennestone Hospital
If you're not planning full birth coverage, we also photograph Fresh 48 sessions at Kennestone Hospital.
Fresh 48 sessions take place during your baby's first 24–48 hours of life before you leave the hospital. These sessions focus on all the tiny details you'll never get back—the wrinkled fingers, hospital bassinet, first family snuggles, sibling introductions, and the feeling of those first hours together.
What a Fresh48 Photo Session Looks Like at Kennestone Hospital
Fresh 48 sessions at Kennestone Hospital are relaxed and baby-led. There is no need to clean your room, or get baby “ready” because we want to document all the little in-between moments, diaper changes, feedings, swaddling, soothing. While the session is documentary in nature we still make sure to include some beautiful family and newborn portraits that are perfect for making your little one’s announcement to family and friends.
How to Prepare for Your Fresh 48 Session
The best preparation is simply bringing a few items you already planned to pack. Consider packing a neutral swaddle, a special outfit for baby, and simple clothing for your partner and/or siblings that reflect your family’s style. Soft colors always photograph beautifully for a classic look. Mom may wish to stay in her hospital gown or change into a comfortable loungewear or pjs set! We do recommend avoiding matching mommy-and-me gown/swaddles, as the baby gets lost in photos.
Hospital rooms can be warm, so lightweight clothing tends to work best. If siblings will be visiting, let them know that a photographer or videographer may be there to capture their first meeting with the baby. Most importantly, don't stress. The beauty of a Fresh 48 session comes from real moments, not perfection.
Introducing Siblings At Your Fresh48 Session
We love to document your big kids meeting your new baby! A Fresh48 session is the perfect way to be fully present while also capturing the moment through photos and/or video. When we have siblings joining for hospital newborn photos, we recommend timing their arrival for 15-30 minutes after we arrive. That way, we can get pictures and video of the new baby alone and with parents, and when siblings arrive, the focus is more on them. We can even meet them in the hallway to let them warm up to us a bit before joining you in your postpartum room. This goes for visiting grandparents, too. We welcome them to join the session, and postpartum rooms fill up quickly, so it’s best to allocate part of our time for them
How Booking Works
Once you reserve your Fresh 48 session, we'll save space on our calendar around your due date and remain on call as your delivery approaches.
When your baby arrives at Kennestone Hospital, simply send us a text. The photographer on call will coordinate a session time that works around your recovery, visitors, and your baby's schedule. Most sessions take place within the first 24–48 hours after birth while you're still in the hospital.
Babies have their own timeline, which is why our on-call model allows us to be available whenever your story begins.
If you're looking for an Emory Midtown Fresh 48 photographer or videographer who believes the most meaningful moments are the real ones, we'd be honored to document this chapter for your family. Long after you've left the hospital, your photographs and films will bring you back to the first hours of knowing your baby.
